FORWARD MARCH FOR FREEDOM
A Musical Salute to African American Military Heritage Events
The 369th Experience will present a series of performances in recognition of Juneteenth where on June 19, 1865, 2.5 years after the Emancipation Proclamation and two months after the end of the Civil War, thousands of enslaved men and women in Texas finally learned they had been freed. FORWARD MARCH FOR FREEDOM spotlights an often-overlooked part of the narrative, the service and sacrifice of African Americans who fought for freedom for themselves, for all Americans, and for liberty-loving people around the world.
